National Novel Writing Month
Hello my fellow readers!
I haven't been active very much recently, but this month has actually been quite busy for me. I have been participating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) this November with a personal goal of 100,000 words. Usually, it's only 50,000 words (which is the official goal of the event). I'm almost to 100,000 words, too! I'm quite excited.
I completely finished the first draft of Danarko on the 20th of November with a total word count of 78,965 words. I'm sure it will gain even more weight as I take a few passes through it (and then subsequently lose weight as my editor attacks it viciously and ruthlessly with a red pen), but I am confident that it will shine when I am done with it.
I believe I have written the best version of this story. Currently, though, I am working on a beautiful informational journal to be a companion to the various universes I have created. So far, I have over 9,000 words in it, and I am looking forward to working in it for a little bit longer before I begin the edits on Danarko.
My local writing group for NaNoWriMo has been quite supportive, and it is very nice to be surrounded by other writers. I have found a lot of encouragement and support by being with them. I don't think I could have finished Danarko so early without them! It's been an amazing trip so far, and I'm looking forward to write with them even more in the future.
